Photovoltaic systems connected to the network SFCR play an important role in the integration of the buildings to the grid, especially in sunny countries such as Brazil. In addition to generating additional power, such systems may promote savings rate costs and reduce respondent load curve especially at peak times, promoting the rational use of existing urban spaces. This paper investigates the potential use of SFVCR systems to reduce electrical load demand at peak times of two urban sectors of the city of Belo Horizonte/ MG: a residential characterized by horizontal buildings and other commercial, characterized by vertical buildings in region high density construction. The methodology consisted of analyzing data provided by CEMIG concessionaire of respondent load measuring devices in some substations. They then calculated the energies generated by SFVCR systems of different technologies and analyzed their contributions as the extra power generation. The results showed that the SFVCR systems used in the commercial sector contribute to reducing the demand curve at the dealership. In the residential sector the SFVCR systems have proven to be self-sufficient generating excess power to the energy required during the daytime, although demand easing have not submitted at peak hours. The use of SFVCR systems in both sectors may help the network as a source of energy, which reduces network overhead in specific feeders and as small plants aiming flexible and diversify the energy mix and helping it in situations of overload of feeders adjacent in the substations. The application of the latter can be important to regions that need additional power and have no area available for installation of solar modules.
