The study analyzes the performance of two grid-connected photovoltaic systems (SFCR) located in the city of Garanhuns, Pernambuco. The SFCR 1, installed in 2022 and composed of a Growatt inverter and Longi Solar modules, underwent an expansion after 1 (one) year, while the SFCR 2, installed in 2023 and with DC power equivalent to that of the aforementioned expansion, used 2 (two) Deye micro inverters connected to 11 (eleven) PV modules individually. The article seeks to verify the technical feasibility of expanding SFCR 1 compared to the performance of SFCR 2 based on the monthly history of electricity generation, the Inverter Dimensioning Factor (IDF) and the merit indices: Capacity Factor (CF), Performance Rate (PR) and Productivity Index (Yf). According to the monitoring system for each SFCR inverter, the system for the expansion of SFCR 1 (EXP SFCR 1) was responsible for an increase in electricity generation of around 578.6 kWh per month on average. The SFCR 2, on the other hand, generated an average of 707.5 kWh/month. The Inverter Sizing Factor showed a considerable change with EXP SFCR 1, going from 0.94 to 0.69 and the Productivity Rate went from 127.3 h/month to 111.2 h/month, while the SFCR 2 obtained 121.3 h/month. The results indicate that, after the expansion, SFCR 1 showed changes in the merit indexes, with a reduction in the FDI and the generation performance and productivity rate. On the other hand, the SFCR 2, with micro-inverters, showed satisfactory results, surpassing the average generation of the SFCR 1.1. The analysis highlights the influence of solar irradiation on the monthly variation in energy generated by the two systems.
