Abstract

This paper presents a proposition of quantifying grid connected PV inverters efficiency in Brazil. European and CEC Efficiencies have been used as comparison basis between inverters, but the weighting factors used on their calculations do not reflect the characteristics of Brazilian solar incidence. In this sense, this paper proposes an improvement in the way of calculating a weighted efficiency, considering the characteristics of Brazilian solar incidence, updating the concept of Brazilian Efficiency for PV grid-connected inverters.
