Abstract

The study of the performance of photovoltaic systems using the performance parameters as a guideline contributes to the development of technology and photovoltaic industry. The performance parameter, are parameters which represent characteristics of materials or equipment according to their energy conversion performance. The objective of this study is to determine the performance parameters, such as the performance ratio (PR), the capacity factor (CF), the overall efficiency of the system, reference yield (YR) and the final yield (YF) of four photovoltaic systems, of three systems located abroad, the Netherlands, Slovakia and South Africa, and the fourth system being a simulated system located in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina. After the determination of performance parameters, the evaluation system is performed according to characteristic of the location in which it is inserted. Factors such as ambient temperature and the availability of solar resources are the main factors that influence the value of the performance parameters of the studied systems.
