Solar irradianceAbstract
The analysis of global irradiance data for Fortaleza is made aiming to emphasize peculiarities inherent to the geographic localization of the city. Fortaleza is at 3º46’ latitude (south) and 38º36’ longitude (west), in the Brazilian Northeast region; for the analysis, the months of March and April (rainy season) and September and October (dry season) for the years 2004 e 2005 are considered. The used data are average values of solar irradiance collected every 30 min; the daily and monthly values in seasonal scales are analyzed. The results show the following irradiance average values: 419.49 W/m² for April, 407.1 W/m² for March, 529.5 W/m² for September and 502.12 W/m² for October.
