Abstract

The high level of solar irradiation over brazilian territory and the accumulated experience on solar energy became as fundamental this source for the national energy sector. So, Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais (CEMIG) and Centro Federal de Educação Tecnológica de Minas Gerais(CEFET-MG) joint their efforts in order to build, to operate and to study the performance of a small scale solar thermal plant, around 10 kW, using solar troughs and searching the most possible nationalization of material and equipament.
