In the laboratory group of solar cells of LAS was implemented a manual system for spectral characterization of photovoltaic devices. Basically, the system comprises a radiation source filament of 250 W, a monochromator with focal length of 250 mm and detection system with lock-in amplifier. The system was characterized with a calibrated power detector to measure the signal at the output of the monochromator and allows the characterization of devices that work in the spectral range between 300nm and 1100nm. Several spectral response curves of solar cells were obtained and the estimated values of short circuit currents were compared with values measured in the solar simulator available in the laboratory getting good agreement. Also the relative spectral response curves of some radiometers was obtained.
