Extraterrestrial total solar irradiation is attenuated by the atmosphere in different proportions, depending mainly on solar zenith angle and altitude of the measurement point. In this work, very high and extreme total solar irradiation surface measurements are presented which, on some days, have surpassed the Solar Constant corrected (CSC) by the actual Sun-Earth distance. This paper reports a detailed analysis of ground based measurements of cloud enhanced solar global irradiation at a sea level site of the inter-tropical Atlantic coast, in the cities of White Water and Maceio, Brazil, for the period January to December 2008. Extreme total solar irradiation values higher than CSC were measured during 7.4% of the days within the total registered period. The time intervals of the phenomenon of amplification, for the above condition of extraterrestrial are between 9:30 to 10:30 solar time to the location of White Water and between 8:30 to 9:30 hours for the town of Maceio.
