Abstract

The performance of solar concentrator systems is related to many factors, among them, it ́s emphasized the concentrated flux shape that reaches the absorber. Using a new methodology developed to determine the flux distribution in solar concentrator absorbers which allows, in a versatile way, to be used with others geometries; it ́s presented in this work, the application of this approach with a parabolic trough concentrator and a cylindrical absorber with a round shape. The geometrical equation was determined that allows the utilization of this approach. The flux distribution results, for a 0.01m circular absorber radius with different solar bright functions, were presented. The impact of distinct values of optical deviation in the flux distribution were simulated, it was observed that these deviations do not tease significant changes in the flux distribution profile.
