A curved photovoltaic system integrated to a residential roof in Singapore (1.35 ° N, 103.98 ° E) is presented in detail and its energy performance is discussed in the light of a shading analysis and its electrical configuration (subsystems division), in order to discuss whether the solutions adopted have contributed to a better performance of the PV array. Yield and performance ratio were compared between subsystems during a one year period (June 2012 to May 2013). Energy generation data were obtained by the data acquisition system from each inverter (subsystem) and the solar irradiance data were obtained from a weather station nearby the case study. The PV generator showed partial shadings for all subsystems at different intensities and times of the day and the year. Results showed good values of yield (1,296 kWh / kWp) and PR (84%) for Singapore when compared to reference values of systems for the same location, showing that even when a generator has no PV modules installed with the best combination of azimuthal deviation and tilt angle and is also partially shaded, it can still provide a good energy performance if the system has been well designed.
