This paper presents an analysis of the application of the periodic linear regression method to the merit indices Final Productivity (YF) and Reference Productivity (YR). As a case study, photovoltaic systems installed at Campus Itumbiara of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Goiás (IFG), were used. A software for monitoring and managing electrical energy (SMGE) was developed to calculate the figure of merit and apply linear regression. The study analyzed data from photovoltaic systems installed on rooftops and on the ground. The results, obtained from data covering the period from July 2022 to August 2023, show that variations in system efficiency can be detected through changes in the slope of the regression lines. Sudden variations in the slope of the linear regressions were observed after cleaning the solar panels, which resulted in an increase in energy conversion efficiency. Furthermore, natural events such as rain also positively influenced efficiency. The results highlight the importance of cleaning photovoltaic panels, whether scheduled or resulting from natural events such as rain.
